Katrina to play lead opposite Ranbir in Jagga Jasoos

After his film Barfi, Anurag Basu has moved onto his next titled Jagga Jasoos, which will once again feature Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. The film is said to be a musical with a detective concept. The lead actress though was a mystery as numbers of names were being floated around.

However recently, Ranbir confirmed that Katrina would be seen opposite him, while the shooting of the film will commence in November.

Jagga Jasoos will be co-produced by Disney-UTV and Anurag and Ranbir's banner called Picture Shuru Productions. The film is expected to be a franchise.

Here is Katrina Kaif minus the make-up and an angry Ranbir Kapoor without his signature bird flip. The couple have not been photographed together since 'bikini-gate' But Our Photographer caught the two exiting the Kapoors' Pali Hill Bungalow Krishna Raj at 11.21 yesterday after a sleepover.

But judging from their expressions, this did not look like a happy goodbye. So was it Ranbir or Katrina who got out from the wrong side of the bed?

Rajeev Masand talked to Katrina Kaif and got her to open up about the much controversial Spain vacation in the interview to Hello! magazine.

Rajeev also adds more tidbits from the interview in his Open magazine column this week.

It seems that he asked Katrina Kaif the question that was on every body's mind regarding her leaked Spain vacation pictures - If she leaked them herself.

tO which Katrina replied, "First, that's not the kind of person I am. And secondly, would I really choose pictures of myself in a mismatching bikini? Pictures that don't even highlight my best features?"

Kat added, "I realise people felt I'd overreacted, but I guess I was naive. It was a personal, unguarded moment. Was it really necessary?"

However, on the professional front, she confirms to Rajeev that she has signed Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos opposite Ranbir Kapoor. Apparently, she will shoot for it alongside Bang Bang and her Kabir Khan film opposite Saif Ali Khan.

When asked on her thoughts about media labeling her as second fiddle to Deepika Padukone, who has had four back-to-back hits in Cocktail, Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express she says, "Two of my films got delayed for reasons that were out of anyone's control [Dhoom 3 and Bang Bang]. But I know [the tabloids] will sing a different tune when those films are coming out."

Well, there you go! Lot of personal and professional clarifications from Kat herself. But the interesting point is that - the bikini that created waves in the media, Kat thought it to be mismatched! Your expert opinions?

Why will Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif not perform together?

Well, it has nothing to do with the duo’s personal equation! The once-upon-a-time lovers will no longer perform together at the 100 Years of Indian Cinema Concert and Awards in Chicago as the show has been now cancelled
Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif were to shake a leg at the event which was scheduled for September but the show has been called off at the last minute. Apparently, Sallu’s entire work schedule went haywire since his UK visa got delayed. And now that the Dabangg actor will finally start shooting for his film Kick, we hear he won’t be able to squeeze in some time for the concert. On the other hand, Kat is been keeping busy coz of her numerous endorsement deals and is constantly travelling in India and overseas for her AD shoots. In fact, the other celebs who were to perform along with the two are now preoccupied with other commitments leaving no option for the organisers but to shelve the show.

Looks like all Sallu and Katrina fans will have to wait a wee longer to see them together on the stage again!

Katrina Kaif had made her not-so-great Bollywood debut with Boom and though the film bombed at the box-office, Kat got noticed. And it’s the director of her debut film, Kaizad Gustad who is keen on working with the gorgeous lady once again. Kaizad, who is currently directing Sunny Leone starrer Jackpot, is happy about Katrina’s success and wants to team up with the actor dobara. We hear the Boom director is just waiting for the right script, and once that happens, he would get in touch with his Boom actor.

Now we are impressed with Mr Gustad’s optimism but we aren’t sure if Katrina would be willing to work with him ‘coz then all her dreaded Boom days will come back haunting her, no?

Director Kaizad Gustad, who launched British-born Katrina Kaif in Bollywood with his 2003 movie Boom, is happy with the latter's success and won't mind working with her again.

Though Boom was a box office dud, Katrina was noticed and since her debut the 30-year-old has given numerous hits like Namastey London, Welcome, Singh Is Kinng, Raajneeti, New York and Jab Tak Hai Jaan among others.

"Today, she (Katrina Kaif) has become such a big star and has reached the number one position in the industry. It feels good. This shows that hard work and perseverance can get you in right place," Kaizad said.

"Why not, I will work with Katrina? Definitely I will, if I will get the right script," he said.

When asked whether he is in touch with his discovery, he said: "Not really. If I will have a movie, I will get in touch with her. It's like that. I don't like to stay in touch just for staying in touch."

Kaizad, who is returning to direction after nine years with Jackpot, met Katrina during the latter's modelling days in London.

Remembering that time Kaizad said: "When I met her (Katrina), I said: 'You come to Mumbai and you will be a big star.' But it took her six months to come to Mumbai because she didn't know how to speak in Hindi and all," he said.

"I knew that when I will cast her, she will leave her impression... I was just the catalyst, rest is her hard work," he added.

Katrina Kaif upset and distressed over leaked bikini pics with Ranbir Kapoor.

Katrina Kaif recently made headlines when a leading magazine published her bikini pictures. The actress was snapped holidaying in Spain with her rumoured boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.

The duo, who have never openly declared their relationship, seemed to be enjoying a sunny day at the beach on their Spanish holiday.

However, Katrina Kaif was not pleased at all with this "invasion of privacy" as she puts it.

Katrina, who has just returned from Sri Lanka after spending quality time with Ranbir, has sent an open letter to the media with an appeal that all media running the pictures of her Spanish escapades refrain from doing so.

"I am writing this to say that I feel most upset, distressed and invaded at my pictures published in a film magazine (and which were carried by other media). The pictures were taken while I was on holiday by someone who, in an act of cowardice, has shot without permission and then used the pictures for commercial gain," she wrote in her letter.

"There is a breed of journalism that preys on celebrities in the worst possible manner crossing all lines of privacy and decency. Running these pictures shows support for this school of journalism."

"I request that all media running these pictures please refrain from doing so. I have a wonderful relationship with the media and have been accessible to the media at all times. There is no reason for this furtive and invasive behaviour," her letter further read.

On the flip side though, Ram Kamal Mukherjee, Editor of Stardust Magazine, which had published Ranbir-Katrina holiday pics, disagreed with Katrina.

On asked about how Stardust managed to get the private moments on camera, Ram reveals the pictures were clicked in Spain by an international photographer.

Katrina and Ranbir were spending sometime on the beach, indulging in some water sports.

I am writing this to say that I feel most upset, distressed and invaded at my pictures published in a film magazine (and which were carried by other media). The pictures were taken while I was on holiday by someone who, in an act of cowardice, has shot without permission and then used the pictures for commercial gain.

There is a breed of journalism that preys on celebrities in the worst possible manner crossing all lines of privacy and decency. Running these pictures shows support for this school of journalism.

No Iftar Celebrations for Katrina Kaif This Year.

Katrina won’t be visiting the area with this gang this year, simply because she is no longer as close to the ‘Khan’daan as she was before. Infact, Salman’s sisters have apparently begun distancing themselves from her… and Malaika Arora Khan, who was anyway never that fond of Katrina, has stopped entertaining her altogether.
